Marissa Dees, 28, from Tampa Bay in Florida, USA, was born with congenital melanocytic nevus a condition causing cancer-prone hairy, dark skin and moles to develop on her skin. Over the years she has had over 30 surgeries to get rid of the high-risk nevus that stretches from her head down to her bottom. During her childhood, she was faced bullying over the appearance given by her condition, cruelled called a Dalmatian and covered her skin beneath lengthy layers. But after her friend and fellow sufferer, Jennifer Androver, died in April this year of stage four melanoma brought on by the condition she couldnt hide any more. Shes now revealed her nevus affected skin and scarring online to encourage others to embrace their differences and to raise awareness of the condition that affects one in 500,000 people. -, Image: 348278651, License: Rights-managed, Restrictions: MARISSA DEES / CATERS NEWS, Model Release: no, Credit line: Profimedia, Caters News
