Gotovo 2.000 migranata najavilo je u subotu, treći dan zaredom, da namjeravaju krenuti iz Soluna prema granici sa Sjevernom Makedonijom, 60-ak kilometara na sjeveru, i odatle otputovati u srednju Europu. Migranti su noć proveli u šatorima u izbjegličkom logoru kod sela Diavate, sjeverozapadno od Soluna, odakle planiraju krenuti na sjever.

No, grčka policija u subotu je odgovorila suzavcem jer su migranti koji pokušavaju doći do granice između Grčke i Sjeverne Makedonije na nju bacali kamenje i boce nakon što je im onemogućeno da dođu do graničnog prijelaza, kazali su svjedoci.

Zbog lažnih glasina da se granica otvorila koje su se proširile na društvenim mrežama, stotine migranata i izbjeglica stiglo je u četvrtak i podiglo šatore na polju blizu izbjegličkog kampa Diavata u blizini granice između Grčke i Sjeverne Makedonije.

U subotu se na tom prostoru nalaze deseci šatora, a interventna policija stvorila je kordon kako bi blokirala pristupni put, te je parkirala 20 autobusa da zaustavi migrante kako ne bi mogli napustiti livadu. Vlasti su poslale i autobuse da vrate ljude u njihove prihvatne centre.

Sredinom dana policija je ispalila suzavac na nekoliko desetaka ljudi, od kojih su neki nosili i djecu, a koji su na nju bacali kamenje i boce jer pokušavaju probiti policijski kordon i doći do glavne ceste koja vodi prema granici.

"Ne želimo sukob s grčkom policijom", rekao je 36-ogodišnji Jaser, sirijski izbjeglica. "Želimo u Europu, ne želimo ostati u Grčkoj", rekao je novinaru Reutersa.

Sukob migranata i policije trajao je nekoliko sati. Većina migranata odbila je napustiti to mjesto, unatoč pozivima ministara da se vrate u svoje prihvatne centre i upozorenjima da ne mogu krenuti dalje na put.

Nekoliko njih vlasti su uspjele uvjeriti da uđu u autobuse, a za ostale se nadaju da će ih vratiti u prihvatne centre do nedjelje.

Skupine migranata koje planiraju uputiti se na sjever okupile su se i u Ateni gdje je u petak na nekoliko sati bio prekinut željeznički promet jer je 300 ljudi okupiralo glavni kolodvor.

Tijekom noći blokada je prekinuta i promet se nastavio.

Na vrhuncu migrantske krize, duž granice sa Sjevernom Makedonijom postavljena je ograda.

Ona još postoji i osigurana je, što znači da je tzv. balkanska ruta prema srednjoj Europi najvećim dijelom zatvorena. Godine 2015. i 2016. njome je u Njemačku stiglo više od milijun ljudi.
